Norway spruce foliar chlorophyll concentrations, Sokolov basin (2009)


Background

The airborne imageries (HyMap 2009 data) were used to assess health of the Norway spruce forests in the Sokolov lignite basin. The systematically collected ground truth data were used to determine chlorophyll content biochemically. These data were then further used to assess various chlorophyll models derived from the spectroscopic imagery.


Results

The model based on the ratios of the 1st derivations of reflectance (D704/D718) reaching the highest accuracy (RMSE=0.2055, R2=0.9370) was selected to subsequently derive a map of foliar chlorophyll concentration (Cab) of the region.

Norway spruce health status, Sokolov basin (2009)


Background

Vegetation parameters derived from the HyMap 2009 reflectance data were used to assess the subtle changes in physiological status of the macroscopically undamaged foliage of Norway spruce.


Results

The map is a result of statistical classification of the Norway spruce health status by integrating the Cab, REP and expSIPI.
